Interstate 10 in Marana closed due to Kingman school bus crash
A spokesman from the Arizona Highway Patrol has provided an update on the school bus accident incident that caused the closure of both sides of Interstate 10 in Marana. Reports indicate that around 40 individuals were on the bus when it crashed with a silver SUV in a two-car collision. The SUV driver has been taken into custody, with charges to follow later. Emergency crews transported three students and one adult to nearby medical facilities, while the remaining bus passengers were also taken for medical assessment as a precaution. More information, including potential charges, will be forthcoming in the following days. The interstate remains closed at Tangerine Road (milepost 240) due to the accident. The bus involved belongs to the Kingman Unified School District and was carrying Future Business Leaders of America students and their supervisors. KGUN 9 will provide more updates in the 6 p.m. news broadcast. Bart Graves of the Arizona Department of Public Safety has confirmed that troopers are responding to the incident. Several students and a staff member are undergoing medical evaluations, as reported by the school district. ADOT has not given an estimated time for the highway to reopen.
