Intersection in downtown Salt Lake City blocked by three-vehicle collision
Early on Friday morning, a collision involving three vehicles occurred at the intersection of 400 South and 700 East in downtown Salt Lake City, near Trolley Square. One of the vehicles tipped over onto its side, causing the body to separate from the frame. Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported. The crash is currently obstructing traffic in all directions except southbound on 700 East, which is being diverted west onto 400 South. The incident is also blocking the UTA Red Line railways, although this is not causing any delays as the line is already suspended for a maintenance project. Crews are working to repair the damage, with the goal of fully reopening the intersection by 8:30 a.m. Motorists are advised to steer clear of the area and use alternative routes if possible.
