Inter Milan goalkeeper involved in fatal car accident with elderly man
According to reports from News.Az, a recent incident in Fenegro near Inter's training center involved a collision between a man in an electric wheelchair and a vehicle driven by Martinez, a 27-year-old goalkeeper for Inter Milan. The man in the wheelchair, unfortunately, did not survive the accident after reportedly experiencing a medical issue that prevented him from avoiding the collision. Martinez, on his way to training at the time, was unharmed but visibly upset. Despite his immediate aid and the swift arrival of medical assistance, the elderly man tragically passed away at the scene. Italian authorities are investigating the circumstances. In response, Inter Milan canceled manager Cristian Chivu's press conference as a mark of respect. The team is set to face Fiorentina at San Siro on Wednesday, with Martinez being the club's second-choice goalkeeper. Coming from a background that includes Las Palmas, Barcelona's La Masia academy, RB Leipzig, and Genoa, Martinez has been with Inter since 2024.
