Injury to Redford Township Police Officer in Crash Due to Weather
A police officer in Wayne County, Michigan was injured in a patrol vehicle crash due to inclement weather while heading to an accident scene. The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday near Five Mile Road and Wormer Avenue in Redford. Several officers were en route to the accident when one of them skidded on standing water on the road, as per Redford Township Police. After receiving treatment at a local hospital, the injured officer was discharged. The cause of the crash is being looked into. The police department expressed gratitude to the citizens who dialed 911 and stopped to assist the officer promptly after the crash.
