Injury to man while skimboarding in OBX
A 19-year-old man was hurt in a skimboarding incident close to the Avalon Fishing Pier in Kill Devil Hills, N.C. Emergency responders arrived at the scene following reports of the man found face down in the water near the pier. Witnesses recounted that he fell while skimboarding and appeared to hit one of the pier's pilings before a bystander rescued him. After receiving first aid from a police officer and emergency responders, he was transported to a nearby hospital for immediate treatment before being airlifted for further care.
