Injury Reported in I35 Accident Saturday Afternoon - KWKT
The Robinson Volunteer Fire Department was called to a serious car crash on Interstate 35 shortly before 4:30pm on Saturday. A person who was injured needed to be rescued using specialized equipment before being taken to the hospital for medical attention. It's crucial to avoid driving through emergency scenes. While emergency crews were busy at the accident site, several cars tried to navigate through the scene, even crossing over the grass median to get around traffic. This reckless behavior created more dangers for first responders, the injured person, and other drivers. Fortunately, officers from the Robinson Police Department were able to stop many of these drivers and issue citations for their unsafe actions. Firefighters, police officers, EMS personnel, and tow operators work in close proximity to moving vehicles, and not following directions can put lives at risk. Show consideration and patience when approaching emergency scenes by slowing down, refraining from using your phone, staying focused on the road ahead, following instructions and traffic signals, remaining in your lane, and giving responders enough space. Your decisions while driving can impact the safety of everyone involved, so it's important to make responsible choices to ensure everyone's well-being.
