Injuries sustained in car crash in Binghampton.

In Memphis, Tennessee, a police officer and another driver were hurt in a collision in the Binghampton neighborhood. The incident took place at the intersection of Mimosa Avenue and Scott Street around 7:50 p.m. Police report that the crash occurred when the officer, traveling southbound on Scott Street, tried to turn right onto Mimosa Avenue. This resulted in a collision with a northbound Chevrolet CRU. The officer, in a non-critical condition, was taken to Regional One and was cited for failing to yield at the intersection. The Chevrolet driver, initially in critical condition but later downgraded to non-critical, was also transported to Regional One and cited for financial responsibility. The officer was not responding to an emergency call at the time. Both vehicles had to be towed due to damage.
