Injuries in US-131 crash in Wayland Township
A fatal crash occurred on southbound US-131 in Wayland Township on Wednesday morning, resulting in the death of one individual according to the Allegan County Sheriff's Office. The incident, which involved two vehicles, occurred around 5:25 a.m. near mile marker 59 close to 124th Avenue. Despite first responders managing to briefly resuscitate the individual on scene, the person passed away en route to the hospital. While authorities have not disclosed the identity, age, or gender of the deceased, five others sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to the hospital. Speed is believed to have played a role in the accident. The southbound lanes of US-131 were closed for several hours before reopening by 9:45 a.m.
