Injured 8, including 3 kids in Ponchatoula three-car collision

The Ponchatoula Police Department is currently looking into a collision involving three vehicles that occurred late Monday evening. Eight individuals, including three young children aged 2, 5, and 7 years old, were part of the incident that took place around 6:27 p.m. on Highway 51 North close to St. Patrick's Boulevard. The cars involved were identified as a 2015 Chevy Silverado, 2014 GMC Terrain, and a 2024 Hyundai Tucson. The injured parties were taken to various local hospitals such as North Oaks Medical Center, Lakeview Hospital, and Our Lady of the Lake-Children’s Hospital. A child was flown to the hospital by air-med as stated by the Ponchatoula police. The identity of those involved has not been disclosed. Following the crash, blood samples were collected from two of the drivers, and an investigation into the incident is ongoing. Chief Bry Layrisson is requesting any witnesses or individuals with information regarding the collision to get in touch with the Ponchatoula Police Department.
