Information disclosed about Baytown officer in accident injuring 5 kids
The Baytown Police Department has provided additional information about a recent crash involving an officer, a woman, and five children. The incident occurred last Thursday at the intersection of West Baker Road and Country Club Drive in Baytown. The officer sustained a leg injury and was airlifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. The woman driving the Honda Odyssey and three of the children were treated at the scene, while two children were airlifted to a nearby hospital. Officer Michael Hightower, a two-and-a-half-year veteran with the department, was responding to a weapons call when the crash occurred. Witness statements and in-car video footage indicated that Officer Hightower had the right of way. The officer has since been discharged from the hospital. No further details about the condition of the other victims have been provided at this time.
