Impaired driver charged in SUV rollover crash near Amazon in Garner; 4 injured, police say
GARNER, N.C. (WNCN) — Four people have been hospitalized in a single-vehicle crash late Friday night in Garner. According to the Garner Police Department, officers responded to a crash with injuries around 10:30 p.m. on Jones Sausage Road. Upon arrival outside of the Amazon Fulfillment Center, officers said they found an SUV flipped over as a result of a single-vehicle crash. A spokesperson with the police said four people were transported by emergency responders to a nearby hospital for treatment. "Two individuals were reported to be in critical condition at the time of this release," the spokesperson said, "while the other two sustained injuries believed to be less life-threatening." Officers said the driver of the SUV is being charged with driving while impaired and consuming alcohol under the age of 21. An alert from the North Carolina Department of Transportation notified drivers of the crash last night, letting them know that Jones Sausage Road was closed from 10:30 p.m. Friday until 5:13 a.m. Saturday. The crash remains under investigation, according to Garner police.
