Illinois woman accused of DUI in fatal I-94 collision

An Illinois woman was arrested for driving under the influence after a tragic incident on I-94 that led to the death of one of her passengers early Sunday morning. The collision occurred around 3:15 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-94 near 87th Street when Tamia Rios, 26, crashed her Buick into a semi that was slowing down due to a stalled vehicle on the highway. The Buick then also hit the stalled car. One of Rios' passengers, Carlos Rios, aged 23 from Ithaca, New York, was declared dead at a nearby hospital. Tamia Rios and two other passengers, along with the driver of the stalled car, were taken to hospitals for treatment of their injuries. Tamia Rios is facing charges of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol leading to death and two counts of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol causing serious harm.
