
Identity revealed of DC woman killed in collision with stolen car carrying 4 teens
A 35-year-old woman, Shaunte Denise Canty, was tragically killed in a car crash this week involving a stolen vehicle containing four teenage boys. The Prince George's County Police Department is actively investigating the incident, which took place in Landover on Tuesday afternoon. Canty was a mother from Washington, D.C. Authorities are examining potential charges against the juveniles. The collision occurred on August 26, 2025, when a stolen vehicle ran a red light and collided with Canty's vehicle. Canty lost her life at the scene, while a child passenger sustained serious injuries. Three of the teenage occupants from the stolen car were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, and the fourth is in police custody. Detectives are collaborating with the State's Attorney's Office to determine the charges to be filed.
