Identity revealed in fatal multi-car accident in Hand County
Early on Wednesday morning, a tragic multi-vehicle accident occurred east of Highmore, SD, resulting in three people being injured, one of whom tragically lost their life. As reported by the Department of Public Safety, the incident involved three motorcycles heading west on US Highway 14. An eastbound 2008 Chevrolet veered across the center line, with the first motorcyclist managing to steer clear of the vehicle. The second motorcyclist collided head-on with the Chevy, while the third was able to avoid the crash by driving into the ditch. Unfortunately, Dorothy Heaton, the second motorcyclist, sustained fatal injuries, while the first motorcyclist was unharmed and the third suffered minor injuries. The driver of the Chevy also sustained minor injuries in the collision.
