Identity revealed in deadly collision involving a pickup truck and train

The identity of the individual who passed away in a collision between a train and a pick-up truck over the weekend has now been disclosed. The South Dakota Department of Public Safety reported that Alejandro Mackenzie Flores, aged 30, from Rosharon, Texas, was driving with a 29-year-old companion near the crossing of 339th Avenue and 237th Street in Sanborn County when the incident occurred. The vehicle was unable to clear the tracks in time and was struck by a BNSF train. Flores lost his life at the crash site, while the passenger sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital in Mitchell. Fortunately, the train operators were unharmed. The South Dakota Highway Patrol is currently conducting an investigation into the accident.
