Identity of missing Kansas City teen revealed in I-70 crash

Interstate 70 in Kansas City, Mo. has been reopened following a tragic accident near U.S. 40 Highway Thursday morning. The victim, identified as Mario Myers, a 14-year-old who was reported missing earlier that day, was struck and killed by an eastbound Chevrolet Malibu while walking in one of the lanes. The eastbound lanes of I-70 past U.S. 40 Highway and the ramp from 40 Highway to eastbound I-70 were closed for two hours following the crash, which occurred at around 4:30 a.m. Myers was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the Malibu was unharmed. The driver cooperated with authorities and stayed at the scene. This is an ongoing situation and FOX4 will provide updates as new information emerges.
