Identifying victims after fatal boat crash on Hilton Head Island
The Beaufort County Coroner's Office has identified the individuals who tragically lost their lives in a boat accident over the weekend on Hilton Head Island as Patsy Montgomery, 73, and James Montgomery, 76, both residents of Bluffton. The incident occurred in the Skull Creek area, where the victims succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Two other individuals were also injured in the crash. According to Capt. Charlotte M. McKee of SCDNR, the boat collision happened near Skull Creek Marina the previous Friday. The investigation is ongoing, with initial reports suggesting that the vessel collided with a day marker along the Intracoastal Waterway. While the vessel operator has passed away, no criminal charges are currently being pursued. SCDNR is leading the investigation into the incident.
