Identifying victim of fatal Lake Ave accident
The video above was taken on Wednesday shortly after the tragic accident. Officials in Fort Wayne, Ind. have identified the victim as Alexandria Francine Baney, a 31-year-old woman. The Allen County Coroner's office confirmed that Baney's death was caused by multiple blunt impact injuries resulting from a car crash during a police pursuit. The incident occurred when Baney, driving a reported stolen SUV, attempted to evade law enforcement, leading to a collision with trees near Lake Avenue and Wyss Road. Firefighters had to extract Baney from the vehicle, and she later succumbed to her injuries at a local hospital. This marks the 31st traffic fatality in the area this year and investigation of the incident is ongoing.
