Identifying Child's Remains Found on Beach after Panga Accident
Authorities have confirmed that the human remains discovered at Torrey Pines State Beach belong to a 10-year-old girl who was missing after a tragic boat accident that killed three others, including her brother. The girl, Mahi Patel, was on a vessel with her family and other suspected undocumented immigrants when it overturned off the coast of San Diego County. Despite extensive search efforts, Mahi's body was not found, and DNA testing confirmed her identity. The cause of her death is still under investigation. Those arrested in connection with these events face federal charges related to human smuggling.
