
Identified: 30-year-old San Diego man dies in I-15 motorcycle accident
The identity of the motorcyclist who tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident on the weekend at the junction of Interstate 15 and State Route 163 in San Diego has been confirmed by the San Diego County Medical Examiner. The individual, Elijah Welsh from San Diego, was 30 years old at the time of the incident. The medical examiner's report indicates that Welsh passed away on Saturday, September 20, after colliding with a concrete barrier on the I-15 at the SR-163 southbound connector and being thrown from his motorcycle. Witnesses at the scene reacted immediately, stopping and calling emergency services just before 3:30 p.m. that day. Responding officers found Welsh with severe injuries and promptly transported him to the hospital, unfortunately, where he was later pronounced deceased. Following the accident, the highway was shut down for approximately three hours as authorities responded to the incident. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is currently conducting an investigation into the specifics surrounding the fatal motorcycle crash.
