Identification of Waukegan woman in deadly Gurnee accident

A 74-year-old woman from Waukegan has been identified as the victim of a fatal two-vehicle collision in Gurnee, as confirmed by officials. The incident occurred on March 28 at approximately 2:20 p.m. near Grand Avenue and 1st Street. The Gurnee police reported that the crash involved a BMW 340i heading west on Route 132 and a Subaru Forester driven by Jane Kennedy traveling east on Grand Avenue, attempting to turn left onto 1st Street. Unfortunately, the Subaru turned into the path of the BMW, resulting in a collision. Kennedy was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center, where she received treatment in the intensive care unit before passing away on March 29. The cause of death was identified as complications from blunt force injuries sustained in the accident, as determined by the Lake County Coroner's Office. The Gurnee Police Department is currently investigating the crash.
