Identification of victim in second deadly collision at intersection
The Colorado Springs Police Department has revealed the identity of a man who passed away in a motorcycle collision at the intersection of North Union Boulevard and Garmish Road near Vickers Drive on Tuesday, August 12. This sad event marked the second fatal accident at that location in the same week. CSPD officers arrived at the scene at approximately 3:45 p.m. to find that a motorcyclist had collided with another vehicle at the intersection, resulting in the motorcyclist's death. Thankfully, no other individuals were harmed. Following an investigation by the Major Crash Team, it was determined that high speed likely played a role in the crash. Authorities disclosed that the deceased rider was 41-year-old Randy Dibuono from Colorado Springs, as confirmed by the El Paso County Coroner's Office after conducting an autopsy on Wednesday, August 13. CSPD noted that this incident marked the 36th traffic fatality in Colorado Springs for the year 2025, slightly lower compared to the 37 fatalities recorded by the same period in 2024.
