Identification of victim in Pittsfield pedestrian crash.
A pedestrian involved in a crash in Pittsfield on June 20 passed away from injuries, as confirmed by the Berkshire County District Attorney’s Office. The incident occurred around 2:45 p.m. on Dalton Avenue near Benedict Road, involving a Chevy Impala and a pedestrian identified as 87-year-old Pittsfield resident Luis Chin. After being hit while walking south through the intersection, Chin was transported to Berkshire Medical Center but unfortunately did not survive. The section of Dalton Avenue between Benedict Road and Harvard Street was shut down for two hours for investigation and cleanup. Authorities continue to look into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
