Identification of victim in deadly I-74 crash
An update at 4:03 p.m. from the Champaign County Coroner revealed the identification of a man from Indiana who tragically lost his life in a crash on Interstate 74 in Vermilion County on Tuesday morning. The deceased individual has been identified as 35-year-old Isaiah Edmond. Following his extraction from the car wreckage near Fithian, Edmond was transported to Carle Hospital in Urbana and was pronounced dead at 5:27 a.m. An autopsy is scheduled for later this week as authorities from the Illinois State Police and Champaign County Coroner's Office investigate the incident. Additionally, an update at 10:07 a.m. confirmed the reopening of the westbound lanes of Interstate 74 by State Police.
