Identification of two fatalities in Polk County collision
Update: Authorities have identified Shannon O'Conner, 65, and Tammy O'Conner, 55, of Alleman as the two individuals who tragically died in the recent crash near Elkhart. The Polk County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating the cause of the incident. The crash occurred on Tuesday evening at the intersection of Northeast 29th Street and Northeast 142nd Avenue. One man and one woman were ejected from their vehicle during the crash. Tragically, the man passed away at the scene, while the woman succumbed to her injuries later on. Another man from a separate vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital by ambulance. The intersection will remain closed until 11:30 p.m. as the investigation continues.
