Identification of soldier killed in Fort Campbell chopper training accident

UPDATE: At 2:15 p.m. on June 13, the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) identified the soldier who tragically passed away due to injuries sustained in a helicopter training accident at Fort Campbell as Chief Warrant Officer 2 Dustin K. Wright. The Fort Campbell Emergency Medical Services pronounced Wright deceased on-site at approximately 6:35 p.m. Wednesday. Another pilot involved in the incident sustained minor injuries, received treatment at a hospital, and has since been discharged. Col. Tyler Partridge, commander of the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of CW2 Dustin Wright, highlighting his commitment and service to ground troops. Wright, who enlisted in 2010 and arrived at Fort Campbell in May 2022, received several prestigious awards recognizing his exceptional service. The circumstances of the accident are currently under investigation.
