Identification of second fatality in Pekin crash by Peoria County Coroner.
The Peoria County Coroner has identified the individual who tragically passed away in a collision in Pekin over the weekend. The victim, 45-year-old Candace L. Bumbalough of Pekin, succumbed to her injuries on Sunday at a nearby medical center following the incident on Illinois Route 9 and 14th Street early Saturday morning. Authorities were notified of a multi-vehicle collision involving an SUV, a pick-up truck, and a motorhome. Sadly, Charlotte Bumbalough, 16, who was a passenger in the SUV, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Illinois State Police responded to the scene and are investigating the crash. The community is mourning this loss, including Pekin Community High School where Candace Bumbalough was a student. The school has offered their condolences and support to those affected by this tragedy, providing counseling services for students in need.
