Identification of Lincoln woman killed in crash in Saunders County
A fatal crash occurred on Sunday afternoon in Saunders County, resulting in the death of a Lincoln woman and injuries to two others, as reported by officials. The incident took place around 3:30 p.m. on Highway 79, approximately two miles north of Prague, prompting a response from deputies of the Saunders County Sheriff's Office. The crash involved multiple vehicles, with a gray Honda Civic driven by Rebekah Guilford, 25, traveling north on Highway 79. The Honda crossed the center line, attempted to correct its path, and collided with a black Lincoln MKZ heading south on the same highway. Tragically, Rebekah Guilford was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Lincoln, Enereo Cervantes, 45, from Columbus, had to be extracted from the vehicle and was transported to a nearby hospital with multiple injuries. A passenger in the Lincoln also sustained multiple injuries and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Seat belts were reportedly worn during the incident, and authorities do not suspect alcohol as a contributing factor to the crash.
