Identification of individuals on board UPS plane that crashed
The UPS plane that crashed near the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport has led to the tragic loss of the cabin crew members who have been identified by UPS as Capt. Richard Wartenberg, First Officer Lee Truitt, and International Relief Officer Cpt. Dana Diamond. The UPS company expressed deep sorrow over the incident and extended their sympathies to the employees and the Louisville community impacted by the crash, emphasizing that providing care and support to those affected is their top priority. The remaining victims of the crash have not yet been named. The crash resulted in the deaths of at least 12 individuals, including a child, with significant destruction caused by the aircraft's fire and engine detachment as it hit businesses. Several people on the ground were fatally injured. The National Transportation Safety Board will conduct the crash investigation involving the McDonnell Douglas MD-11 plane built in 1991 that was en route to Honolulu when the tragic incident occurred.
