Identification of deceased in deadly Drennan Road collision
According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), a fatal crash occurred on Drennan Road on Saturday, July 19, which claimed the life of 27-year-old Johnny Givens. CSPD responded to the scene around 11 p.m. in the 4100 block of Drennan Road, where they discovered that a motorcycle had crashed and the rider was thrown. Despite medical personnel's efforts, the rider was pronounced dead. The investigation revealed that the motorcycle was speeding and failed to navigate a roundabout, leading to the crash. The El Paso County Coroner's Office conducted an autopsy and confirmed the rider's identity as Givens on July 21. This incident marks the 31st traffic fatality in Colorado Springs for 2025, the same number as the previous year at this time.
