Identification of child killed in Oppenheim car accident

Recently in Oppenheim, New York, State Police identified the child who tragically lost his life when a car collided with a residence. The victim, 4-year-old Amos Lapp from Fort Plain, was visiting a home on Keyser Lake Road with his family when the incident occurred. The vehicle involved, a GMC Savanna Van, was driven by someone hired by the family. According to reports, while the van was reversing down the steep driveway, the driver accidentally lost control of the brakes and was unable to stop in time, resulting in the collision with the child and the house. Tragically, Lapp was pronounced dead at the scene by State Police. The driver has been cooperative with authorities during the investigation, and as of now, no charges have been filed.
