Identification of Chicago man in deadly I-94 collision near Northbrook

A man from Chicago was unfortunately killed in a single-car accident on I-94 near Northbrook earlier this week. The incident occurred on northbound I-94, just north of Dundee Road, where emergency responders discovered a severely damaged Toyota Sienna minivan in a construction zone. The victim, identified as 60-year-old Jianzhong Tan, was taken to Endeavor Health Highland Park Hospital but passed away in the emergency room due to blunt force injuries sustained in the crash. The Lake County Coroner's Office conducted an autopsy that confirmed the cause of death. The Illinois State Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident and have not yet determined the cause.
