Identification made in fatal Thruway crash in Bethlehem
A tragic three-car crash on I-87 in Bethlehem resulted in the loss of 63-year-old Claudia Hargis-Grover of Glens Falls. The incident took place near Exit 23 just before 4:45 p.m. on Saturday, leading to injuries for multiple individuals involved. The crash involved a speeding 2011 Chevrolet sedan that attempted to change lanes, causing a collision with a Ram pickup truck before rear-ending a 2025 Chevrolet sedan driven by Hargis-Grover. Hargis-Grover was identified as the driver of the 2025 Chevrolet by State Police on Monday. Fortunately, a passenger from the 2025 Chevrolet was taken to Albany Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, while the occupants of the Ram pickup truck received medical attention at Albany Memorial Hospital. The driver of the 2011 Chevrolet, who was cleared of alcohol impairment in tests, was charged with various violations and taken to Albany Medical Center for evaluation.
