ICSO: 1 person in the hospital after two-vehicle crash in Orange Township

ORANGE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Deputies say one person is in the hospital after a car crash in Orange Township Sunday morning. According to the Ionia County Sheriff's Office, around 3:30 a.m., deputies responded to reports of a two-vehicle crash near the intersection of East Grand River Avenue and Sunfield Highway. After further investigation, the driver of the first vehicle, a 27-year-old man from Ionia, was going westbound on East Grand River Avenue when he crossed the centerline and collided head-on with the second vehicle, driven by a 25-year-old man from Portland, that was traveling eastbound. The man in the first vehicle was transported to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The man in the second vehicle sustained only minor injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
