I-83 crash causes object to dangle over Harrisburg bridge
(WHTM) - A crash on I-83 has caused a traffic message board to dangle from the I-83 Bridge. abc27's Mallory Metzner was near the Dock Street Dam for a separate story when she heard a loud crash shortly after 5 p.m. That's when the message board, which warns drivers of traffic issues, was sent dangling from the bridge on the northbound side. According to 511PA the shoulder is closed at Exit 43: Capitol/2nd Street. First responders are on scene. This week is National Work Zone Awareness Week as construction ramps up during warm weather. “The national campaign slogan this year is ‘Respect the zone so we can all go home,'” said Luke Lazar, the Vice President of Risk and Safety at Flagger Force. “What we asked the motorist to do are those four things that I identified: ‘Pay attention, stay alert, slow down, move over, and eliminate distractions.'”
