I-80 reopens after massive collision in Centre County

UPDATE: I-80 has been reopened as of 1:39 p.m. following a major crash involving over 30 vehicles. However, the Snow Shoe Fire Company has stated that a section of I-80 between Kylertown and Snow Shoe is currently closed due to a tractor-trailer collision with more than 30 vehicles this morning. Snow Shoe Fire Company reported that the incident caused a significant traffic backup. Crews are working on clearing the vehicles and hazards, and I-80 will remain closed for an extended period. Multiple crashes have been reported in Centre County due to snowfall, leading to the closure of all lanes of I-80 in both east and westbound directions at the Snow Shoe Exit (mile marker 147). I-80 Eastbound is also closed at the Kylertown exit (Mile marker 133). Drivers are advised to expect delays and should adjust their travel plans accordingly.
