I-80 lanes blocked in Emeryville due to fatal motorcycle crash
A tragic accident involving a motorcycle led to the closure of multiple lanes on the I-80 freeway in Emeryville on Sunday afternoon. California Highway Patrol responded to the incident on the eastbound side of the freeway near Powell Street around 2:40 p.m. The crash involved a Honda VT motorcycle, Toyota Prius, Tesla model S, and a Subaru Crosstrek, resulting in a fatality for the motorcycle rider. Other drivers involved remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities during the investigation. The freeway lanes were closed for approximately two hours for investigation and were reopened by 4:20 p.m. Fortunately, drugs and alcohol were not believed to have played a role in the accident.
