I-79 northbound still closed from early morning crash in Monongalia County, WV

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WBOY) — The northbound lanes of Interstate 79 near the West Virginia/Pennsylvania line have been closed for several hours after a vehicle accident Tuesday morning. According to the WV 511, both lanes of I-79 northbound are closed at mile marker 160, which is between Morgantown, WV and Mount Morris, PA. The lanes have been closed since around 5 a.m. on May 13, according to the Monongalia County Emergency Management Agency. There are no signs movement as of 9 a.m., traffic cameras in West Virginia and Pennsylvania show. Vehicles are taking exit 155—West Virginia University, Star City—near Morgantown which is causing additional delays on Chaplin Hill Road and leading up to University Town Centre. Southbound lanes of I-79 are not impacted, according to WV 511. Stick with 12 News for updates on this developing story.
