I-75 south reopens after Spring Hill man falls off bridge into Alafia River: FHP
I-75 south in the Gibsonton area has been reopened following a multi-car fatal crash on the bridge over the Alafia River. The Florida Highway Patrol reported that a tragic incident occurred early Sunday morning when a 41-year-old Brandon woman driving a Chevy Traverse struck and killed a 35-year-old Spring Hill man walking around after a crash. This collision caused the victim's car to be pushed off the bridge and into the river. The Chevy then collided with a Mazda 3 sedan, but fortunately, the driver was not inside. The Chevy driver sustained minor injuries, and no other injuries were reported. Traffic was redirected to US-301 S at mile marker 254, while investigations continue.
