I-65 segment closed after deadly accident in Calera
Authorities in Calera, Alabama are closing the northbound lanes of I-65 N following a fatal accident involving a tractor-trailer and a vehicle on Monday night. One person was killed and another seriously injured in the incident. Calera Police Chief David Hyche stated that the State Traffic Homicide Team is treating the scene as a potential crime due to the possibility of criminal charges or civil action. The closure of I-65 N near mile marker 227 is expected to last from approximately 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday for about 30 to 45 minutes as the investigation continues.
