I-40 crash victims named
Following a tragic multi-vehicle accident in Memphis, a witness shared with WREG how he attempted to assist the victims. Memphis Police reported that five vehicles were involved in the collision on I-40 and N. Hollywood on a Saturday afternoon. The sequence of events involved one vehicle rear-ending another, leading to a chain reaction involving the other vehicles. Sadly, the crash resulted in the loss of three lives. In response to the incident, Youth Villages issued a statement to WREG expressing their sorrow. One bystander, identified as an Army reservist trained for emergencies, recounted his efforts to help a person trapped in a vehicle engulfed in flames. Despite his heroic actions, the fire could not be fully extinguished. The witness expressed sympathy for the affected families. Authorities mentioned that one other person was hospitalized but is expected to recover. WREG is actively seeking further details from investigators and will provide updates as more information is obtained.
