I-15 North reopens after deadly accident

Northbound I-15 has been reopened following a tragic accident that occurred during the morning rush hour on Wednesday. The crash took place near North Temple around 7:45 a.m., resulting in the closure of the freeway for approximately an hour. Traffic was redirected off the freeway at 400 South, with the eastbound I-80 to northbound I-15 transition ramp also temporarily shut down. Police eventually allowed traffic through the left three lanes before fully reopening all lanes by 11:15 a.m. The crash involved a black pickup truck and a red Jeep, with the driver of the Jeep unfortunately losing their life. The incident caused significant delays and congestion on city streets as motorists sought alternative routes. Earlier, another crash near the 600 North exit had already caused significant traffic disruptions.
