Latest update at 12:00 p.m.: The eastbound lanes of I-10 have officially re-opened as of noon on Friday, reports the Arizona Department of Transportation. Earlier report: Following a fatal crash this morning, the eastbound lanes of I-10 are currently closed at Wilmot Road. ADOT stated that a vehicle traveling in the westbound direction near Wilmot Road veered into the eastbound lanes, resulting in a collision with another vehicle. Tragically, both drivers lost their lives at the scene. Traffic heading eastbound is being rerouted to the frontage road at Craycroft, and then directed back onto the highway at Wilmot. Please consider taking alternate routes as the estimated time of reopening remains uncertain.
