Hydroplaning blamed for deadly I-220 crash
Shreveport police have identified the person who died in a tragic crash on I-220 just before the Fourth of July as Robert Rougeau of Benton, aged 58. The collision took place on Wednesday, July 3rd, 2025, around 5:26 p.m. near the I-49 underpass in Shreveport. According to officials, the crash involved multiple vehicles, with a blue Dodge Ram losing control in rainy conditions, crossing the median, and colliding with Robert Rougeau's vehicle in the eastbound lanes of I-220. Rougeau was unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Dodge Ram was taken to a local hospital for testing. Authorities are actively investigating the incident and will provide updates as they become available.
