Hundreds without power after car crash near Mt. Tabor, driver missing

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Nearly 300 people are without power near Mt. Tabor after a car crashed near Mt. Tabor early Wednesday morning. Portland police said that officers responded to the scene, where they found a crash that had damaged several power poles and was on fire. Fire crews quickly put out the flames, and police said they learned that witnesses saw one or two people exit the vehicle and leave the scene. Officers visited the residence of the car's owner, but they learned she hadn't been driving at the time of the crash. Police said they are still working to determine who was driving the car. According to Portland General Electric, 271 people are without power after the crash near Southeast Division Street and Southeast 60th Avenue. As of 7:45 a.m., PGE's outage map shows that power should be restored by 10:30 a.m.
