Hit-and-run on LA freeway claims life of tow truck driver
A tow truck driver was tragically killed in a hit-and-run incident on the 110 Freeway early Tuesday morning. The collision occurred around 1:30 a.m. near Florence Avenue on the southbound side of the freeway. According to Officer Gomez of the California Highway Patrol, a driver fled the scene after hitting the tow truck driver who was assisting a disabled vehicle on the right shoulder. Despite authorities locating the vehicle involved, the driver had already left the scene on foot. The victim was pronounced dead by Los Angeles Fire Department responders. The CHP urged anyone with information or footage regarding the incident to come forward. As a result of the investigation, several freeway lanes were closed for hours, but all lanes were reopened by 7 a.m.
