Hit-and-run driver causes CTA bus to crash into Jefferson Park building, police report
A CTA bus with only the driver on board crashed into a building in Jefferson Park on the Northwest Side of Chicago late on Saturday night. The bus was hit by a hit-and-run driver, causing it to lose control and hit a parked car, a fence, and then crash into a residential building. The driver, a 46-year-old woman, sustained a head injury and was taken to a hospital in fair condition. Fortunately, there were no other injuries reported. The Red Cross has been contacted to assist the five displaced residents of the damaged building. Police are investigating the incident, as the hit-and-run driver fled the scene.
