Hit-and-run crash kills 15-year-old bicyclist in Crystal Lake, Illinois
A tragic incident occurred in Crystal Lake, Illinois, where a 15-year-old cyclist lost their life after being struck by a vehicle on Wednesday night. The McHenry County Sheriff's Office reported that the collision took place on Terra Cotta Road near Deering Oaks Lane around 9:30 p.m. It was reported that two 15-year-old cyclists were traveling south on Terra Cotta Road when one of them was hit from behind by an unidentified vehicle. The cyclist was rushed to Northwestern Medicine Hospital McHenry, where they were sadly pronounced dead. The driver of the vehicle did not stop to offer assistance and fled the scene. Authorities are actively investigating the incident, led by the McHenry County Sheriff's Office Major Crash Investigation Unit and the McHenry County Coroner's Office.
