Hit-and-run causes elderly man to hit tree, pinning him inside
An older man is sent to the hospital after his van is forced into a tree in downtown Omaha.Omaha Police responded to a call of a single-vehicle accident at the intersection of 24th Avenue and St. Mary's Avenue just after 8:30 p.m. on Monday.They found a white van that ran into a tree near the intersection. The van had significant front-end damage.An officer on scene said the man was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.Police say the van was going south when a westbound car drove through and sent it into the tree.
