Highway Patrol investigating crash that killed 10-year-old from Warren

CLEVELAND (WKBN) -- The Ohio State Highway Patrol released the name of a local 10-year-old who was killed in a crash in Solon over the weekend. Max Davis died at the hospital from injuries sustained in the crash on Route 422 near Harper Road. According to the Highway Patrol, he was a passenger in a Ford Escape that went off the roadway, overcorrected and rolled over, hitting a guardrail. The other passengers, a 34-year-old woman from Hermitage and a 6-year-old girl from Youngstown, had serious injuries and were transported to area hospitals. The driver was a 29-year-old man from Warren, but troopers did not list a condition of the driver. The crash remains under investigation. Troopers are looking for a black four-door sedan, possibly a Subaru WRX or BMW, operated by a middle-aged man with spiky gray hair. Troopers believe that the driver was involved in the crash or witnessed it. Those with information are asked to contact the Cleveland post of the Highway Patrol at 216-265-1677. Troopers say seat belts were not used at the time of the crash. Earlier this week, Warren City Schools confirmed that a fifth-grade student at Willard PK-8 died in a crash over the weekend. The district is offering counseling services to students.
